About The Weld Fab

The Weld Fab is an independent editorial resource for planning welding and fabrication work: 9 browser calculators that issue printable planning records from figures you enter, and 8 evidence-led guides on the procedure paperwork, joint geometry, processes and hazards of the trade. The site is built around one task: plan the weld before you strike the arc.

The working principles are mechanical rather than aspirational: every number carries its unit; every claim traces to a named source, a stated formula or a figure you entered; every calculator withholds a result when required information is missing rather than guessing; and every result is a planning estimate that defers to nameplates, manufacturer data and competent assessment. The Weld Fab is not:

• a fabricator, workshop or supplier of any product or service;
• a training provider, certification body, examiner or examining body;
• a safety consultancy — it performs no assessments and issues no verdicts;
• a hire or retail business — it sells and arranges nothing;
• a publisher of sponsored content — no advertising or paid placements.

No operator biography, office address, credentials, client list, testimonials or awards are published. Do not treat this site as evidence of professional appointment or competence for a job; use the named technical sources, your manufacturer data and the competent people responsible for the work.

Guides are written from local snapshots of named public documents — chiefly HSE guidance and TWI technical knowledge pages — paraphrased and cited inline, with the originals linked in each page’s source register and their publisher, update and accessed dates kept distinct. Diagrams are drawn for this site with readable labels rather than baked-in text. Decorative raster images are generated illustrations; they are not photographs of inspected jobs or evidence of completed work. Worked examples are recalculated against the same formulas used by the live tools, with arithmetic, validation and display rounding on the methodology sheet. A revision date changes only when the substance changes.

The calculators run entirely in your browser; nothing entered into a calculator is transmitted or retained after the page is closed. There are no analytics or accounts, and the fonts are served locally. The separate contact form sends only the fields a visitor chooses to submit to the domain mailbox.
